Children Crisis Respite

Description of Services:

Services are provided within a provider’s home to youth below the age of 18 who are experiencing a crisis, and the child or caregivers are in need of temporarily relief from their care. The intent of the service is to encourage stabilization in the natural living environment, and prevent admission to out-of-home institutions, such as hospitals, residential treatment centers, and juvenile detention.  These youths are diagnosed with a behavioral health and/or intellectual developmental disability or related condition.

Rate: $100 per day regardless of length of stay

Areas to be served:

Williamson County, Burnet County, Bastrop County, Caldwell County, Fayette County, Lee County

Eligibility:

Successful provider candidates will have the following qualifications

  • At least 21 years of age.
  • All home occupants are able to pass all criminal background checks and screenings.
  • Valid Texas Driver’s License or ID.
  • Previous experience working with individuals diagnosed with a behavioral health or intellectual developmental disability.
  • Able to complete all required trainings to contract with the Children’s Crisis Respite program.
  • Able to satisfy home inspection and fire inspection requirements.
  • Home liability insurance.

Respite

Description of Service

The independent contractor will provide planned or emergency short-term relief to the primary caregiver of persons with developmental disabilities. Services are provided in the home of the contractor or the person with developmental disabilities.

Rate of Payment

$10.00/hour for up to 10 hours; $100/day for 10 hours or more.

Areas to be Served

Bastrop, Burnet, Caldwell, Fayette, Gonzales, Guadalupe, Lee and Williamson Counties only.

Eligibility Requirements

At least 18 years of age; high school diploma/GED. Degree in a behavioral science preferred. Must have at least one year of experience working with the developmentally disabled. If services are provided in contractor’s home, must have homeowner’s insurance and be subject to an inspection of the home. Current auto liability insurance required. Good reading and writing skills required. Must pass background screening.

Supported Home Living/Community Supports

Description of Service

The independent contractor will provide direct personal assistance with activities of daily living for adults with developmental disabilities. Includes providing transportation and assisting with training in life skills in the consumer’s home and in the community.

Rate of Payment

$16.00/hour individual service; $19.00/hr group service

Eligibility Requirements

At least 18 years of age; high school diploma/GED; copy of DPS driving record and proof of auto liability insurance. At least one year experience providing services to individuals with developmental disabilities. Must use own car and provide transportation for the consumer. Current auto liability insurance required. Good reading and writing skills required. Must pass background check.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapist

Rate of Payment

$40.00/hour for individual session: $20.00/hour for group sessions

Description of Service

$350.00 for completion of a DMR; $100 for an endorsement.

Eligibility Requirements

Licensed in the state of Texas by the Texas State Board of Examiners of Psychologists in accordance with the Texas Revised Civil Statute Article. Prefer the applicant to have experience with a Local Authority completing diagnostic assessment (DMRs), endorsements, and assessments to determine eligibility.

Contract Position

Speech Therapist

Description of Service

This position provides speech therapy services to infants, toddlers and families through assessments of needs, development of service plans, direct speech therapy, consultation, and service coordination as needed. Knowledge of typical and atypical speech, language, and oral motor development and treatment methodologies in children birth to three years old and the ability to work sensitively with families from a variety of cultural orientations is critical. Exemplary communication skills are necessary in order to interface with individuals served, accurately document service provision, and work with community partners as part of linking families to other needed resources. The purpose for the position is to provide educational, material and emotional support to families so the child can learn throughout the day and to support the attachment between the parent and child. This position is one discipline of a transdisciplinary team and may be the primary service provider for a given family or may serve in a consultant role. Services are provided in settings where the child lives, learns, and plays.
