The Housing Specialist provides skills training and supports to people with a diagnosis of mental illness that need affordable housing. The Housing Specialist works with individuals in the community and in transitional housing to access affordable housing by providing budget analysis and planning, developing affordable housing goals and objectives, referrals to employment services, applying for affordable housing, skills training to secure and maintain housing, and help accessing housing-related resources in the community. The Housing Specialist establishes relationships with housing providers in the community, and works collaboratively with clinicians and other service provider to promote the person’s independent living and wellbeing. Services are documented within 24-hours of service provision, and are provided according to applicable government and company standards, rules, and guidelines. Will provide services in other counties and needed. The work shift is variable, which may include hours other than 8:00 – 5:00, and may include weekends or holidays, as needed. Other duties as assigned.
|Credentials||Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Sociology, or related human services field. Must have a valid Texas Driver's License.|
Preferred Qualifications: Preferred, but not required: Experience working with individual that have a diagnosis of mental illness. Ability to speak Spanish
