Under the supervision of the Director of Crisis Services, the Licensed Professional of the Healing Arts (LPHA) is a member of the Seguin Extended Observation Unit (EOU). This position will provide a combination of authority functions within the Extended Observation Unit (EOU) as well as crisis intervention within Guadalupe Regional Medical Center to include short-term low to moderate level stabilization of identified needs. The LPHA is responsible for initiating the Person-Centered Recovery Plan and engaging the individuals in crisis to achieve rapid stabilization. Position must be able to make quick and effective decisions regarding client care and provide rapid stabilization services during the intensive program. Decisions to move individuals to a higher level of intensity will be part of the consideration while at the EOU.
While on the EOU, the LPHA is responsible for recommending admission, providing treatment, monitoring suicide risk on a daily basis and recommending discharge on individuals assessed in crisis. LPHA staff are key members of the treatment team assessing suicide risk and monitoring psychiatric symptoms that prevented the individual from being independent in the community. The LPHA is responsible for providing active treatment including individual brief-solution focused counseling, crisis intervention, substance use counseling, and developing a recovery plan for returning to the community. In addition, the LPHA is responsible for assessing the needs of individuals to determine those meeting eligibility for agency services, and those who require referrals for other providers in the community upon discharge from the EOU.

|Credentials||Minimum Qualifications: LCSW, LPC, PHD licensure in TX and must have a valid Texas Driver's License.|
Preferred Qualifications: Two years post licensure experience with persistent mental illness in crisis mental health setting preferred.
