(135) Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist, Advanced Practice Registered Nurse, or Physician Assistant

Job Description

This Position provides psychiatric care primarily in person, with some occasional telemedicine to a full caseload (based on % FTE) of patients with psychiatric disorders. The Position is responsible for the delivery of professional care and competent services to primarily children and adolescents, but may include adults (depending upon preference and qualification) in the areas of psychiatric evaluation, medication management, treatment planning, emergency evaluations in an outpatient setting and/or crisis settings. Familiar with current psychiatric diagnosis and treatment. Must have the ability to provide services via telemedicine to multiple clinic locations if needed, including primarily or exclusively to other contracted community mental health centers (to be established prior to offer of a position, and may be the sole determinant of percent FTE available for this position and continuing support for the position). Must be able to document services using an electronic medical record as selected by the clinic site. The Position is responsible for ensuring compliance with policies, procedures, billing code requirements, and will complete records in a timely manner using the designated medical record system. Other duties include consultation with staff, treatment team participation.

CredentialsMinimum Qualifications: Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist: Doctor of Medicine or Osteopathy. By hire date: Certification of completion of residency in child and adolescent psychiatry; Current, active license to practice medicine in Texas as issued by the Texas Medical Board; Current, active Controlled Substance Registration Certificate issued by the U.S. Department of Justice, Drug Enforcement Administration (or in process). Unrestricted eligibility to participate in provider network for Medicare/Medicaid/other third party payers.

Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN): Registered Nurse with active license from Texas Board of Nursing as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner-Board Certified (PMHNP-BC) with Prescriptive Authority for adult, child and adolescent psychiatric disorders; Current, active Controlled Substance Registration Certificate issued by the U.S. Department of Justice, Drug Enforcement Administration (or in process). Unrestricted eligibility to participate in provider network for Medicare/Medicaid/other third party payers. Will consider candidates in process of obtaining above certifications and licensure.

Physician Assistant (PA): Current, active Texas PA license as issued by the Texas Medical Board; Current, active Controlled Substance Registration Certificate issued by the U.S. Department of Justice, Drug Enforcement Administration (or in process of obtaining); unrestricted eligibility to participate in provider network for Medicare/Medicaid/other third party payers. Will consider candidates in process of obtaining above certifications and licensure.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Psychiatrist: Board Certification in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry
• APRN: 2 years or more experience in providing child psychiatric services
• PA: 2 years or more experience in providing child psychiatric services
• DEA DATA 2000 Waiver (or ability to obtain within 3 months of hire) for treatment of individuals with opiate use disorders (if applicable to the specific location and position)
