This leadership position serves as the Clinical Team Lead for Behavioral Health Services in Williamson County under the supervision of the Round Rock Behavioral Health Center Director in Williamson County. Bluebonnet Trails Community Services’ mission is to enhance personal growth through a valued system of care designed to improve the health and independence of the persons we serve. The Clinical Lead will provide clinical support, oversight and supervision to the clinic’s team of Routine and Intensive Case Managers and oversight of the provision of services to adults in services in Williamson County. Case Managers provide direct services to individuals living with mental illness, and their families, both in the clinic and in the community.
Along with providing clinical support for the clinic, the individual in this position will be responsible for providing direct services. The direct services that this position may provide includes intake, crisis, counseling and case management services. The position will also assist in ensuring that programs adhere to contractual and agency guidelines. This position is one discipline of a multidisciplinary team and will be working closely with the individuals and families they serve and as a consultant to other staff. In addition to direct service provision, the person in this role may be asked to supervise other providers, engage in program development, or develop special projects.
This position may be responsible for ensuring that complex, time-intensive cases are evenly distributed and considered for more experienced clinicians and that the number of assigned clients permits the appropriate delivery of services. With the Center Director, the Clinical Lead assesses the caseload of the clinicians to ensure that clients are continuing to make progress toward their recovery goals.
The person in this position will direct and provide intake assessment, skills training, and case management services that primarily focus on furthering an individual’s independent living, community skills and overall wellness and recovery. Services directed and provided by the person in this position should promote community integration, increased stability within the community as well as an improved quality of life and implementation of self-determination for individuals served, as appropriate. Services provided by this position also includes development of person-centered recovery plans that address barriers and strengths related to an individual’s recovery and wellness.
The person in this position requires an aptitude for working with people who have diagnoses of bipolar disorder, major depressive disorder as well as schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder and other psychotic disorders. This position also requires knowledge of psychotherapeutic medications as well as evidenced-based practices and contraindications in the promotion of recovery for individuals with severe and persistent mental illnesses. This position requires knowledge and skills in assessment, collaborative person-centered recovery, differential diagnosis, and wellness and recovery-oriented systems of care.
As Clinical Lead, the person in this position will role-model and coach in person-centered language, case conceptualization skills, crisis intervention skills, ethical decision-making, appropriate boundaries, successful achievement of expectations and self-care. The Clinical Lead will also be responsible for coaching behavioral health case managers and crisis providers during recovery team meetings and supervision to 1) consider application of the Illness Management and Recovery curriculum, 2) review completed Treatment/Recovery Plans using the associated audit tools, 3) facilitate self or peer-review of progress notes using the Progress Note Audit Tool, 4) promote self-care by allotting time for discussion and review of articles, audio/video clips and/or books on this subject, 5) assess for the need of and promote further professional development by initiating and arranging training opportunities with the Clinical Director(s) 6) work to improve outcome measures, job performance and clinical care by using data and reporting systems (including performance outcomes, achievement/service hours, collaborative documentation and personal leave reports). In addition to these tasks, the Clinical Lead will provide support to case managers and crisis providers on topics such as engagement, identifying barriers and solutions to meeting achievement expectations and coordinating and/or providing coverage of caseloads as needed. The Team Lead will provide direct feedback and clarification to/from the Center Director, as needed, as well as notify the Center Director and/or other appropriate parties if any potential risks or concerns surface.
The person in this position will work closely with the Center Director in implementing integration of Williamson County’s Behavioral Health programs and other existing and developing community services and stakeholders. The person in this position will perform other duties as assigned.

|Credentials||Minimum Qualifications: Clinical licensure as a LMSW, LPC-I, LMFT-A, or PhD, and actively engaged in supervision towards advanced clinical licensure, or possession of a PsyD. At least two years experience providing case management services to individuals with mental illness. Valid Texas driver’s license in good standing required. Must have excellent oral and written communication skills. |
Preferred Qualifications: Clinical licensure as an LCSW, LPC, LMFT, or Phd. Additional licensure as a Texas board approved supervisor to provide clinical supervision to LMSW, LPC-I, or LMFT-A licensees seeking advance licensure. Five years experience, with at least two of those years providing case management services to individuals with mental illness in an outpatient setting. Bilingual preferred.
