This position requires that one work as a Behavioral Health Counselor to children and youth. This is an exciting, and dynamic position which allows one to work in our Integrated Care clinic in Lockhart. A person in this unique position must feel confident working independently, be efficient at time management, and have wide range of clinical experience.
As a Behavioral Health Counselor, one will provide therapeutic mental health services primarily to children, Youth and Families in accordance with best-practice standards, evidence-based interventions and individualized recovery planning. Therapies might include, but are not limited to, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Play Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Counseling services will be provided in BTCS’ facilities/offices, and or in the community and may be provided in vivo or via Tele-Video, as appropriate and approved by the Clinical Director. This position may also receive referrals for adults when clinically appropriate. This position will have the opportunity to participate in and/or lead community education, engagement and outreach events and programming (i.e. groups, workshops, classes, courses).
|Credentials||Minimum Qualifications: Master’s Degree in Social Work from an accredited college or university, current licensure by the State of Texas as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) or PhD in clinical psychology from an accredited college or university, current licensure by the State of Texas as a licensed clinical psychologist, or Registered Nurse (RN) with a master’s degree in nursing, preferably with specialized certification (RNC) in behavioral health, or a master’s degree in psychology, counseling or related field and licensure by the State of Texas as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). The candidate will be credentialed through Bluebonnet Trails Community Services.|
