This position reports to the Director of Health Plan Reimbursement with the duties of providing supervision to the Consumer Benefits staff, develop and/or possess expertise in state, federal, and local benefits programs, to include Youth Empowerment Services (YES), and gain expert benefits knowledge for assisting homeless persons through SOAR training. The position will be responsible for monitoring team metrics and monthly reports for the benefits team, develop referral process with local indigent programs across system, and establish local Social Security contacts by county.
Position will support Director of Health Plan Reimbursement with developing internal referral process to indigent program and identify local program members. Position will serve as an expert benefits specialist by assisting with highest level needs consumer applications. Streamline process to support conducting interviews to obtain, clarify, and verify information about individual applicants initial and reconsideration applications. Assist individuals in filing for administrative appeals in matters concerning entitlement to benefits or coverage under federal programs, growing as a lead representative of the organization for court representation. Responsible for building a knowledgeable team of experts to support our growing system of care.
|Credentials||Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree. 4+ years of experience working with Medicaid, Medicare, SSI, and SSDI benefits applications. Experience working with persons with disabilities in a medical facility or social service agency. Strong computer and communication skills. Experience with Microsoft word and Excel|
Preferred Qualifications: 1.Knowledge of ACA Marketplace Navigator assistance during open enrollment 2. Trained as a Community Partner Navigator and Consumer Benefits Specialist having assisted consumers within Texas 3. 2 or more years of Administrative Law Judge Hearing experience with court representation 4. Bilingual
