Job Description

This position is for a certified Peer Recovery Support Specialist (PRSS) to serve in the Outreach, Screening, Assessment and Referral (OSAR) Program at Bluebonnet Trails Community Services (BTCS). The position will work primarily with individuals seeking recovery services from opioids, and/or other substances. Services include peer support, Person-Centered Planning, Wellness Recovery Action Planning, Whole Health Action Management, Seeking Safety, and Recovery Dialogue. The primary responsibility of peer specialists is to help individuals identify and achieve their own needs, wants, and goals. The Peer Specialist will facilitate and document individual and/or group services at OSAR locations and other locations in the community, as assigned. As a member of the OSAR and Peer Support Team, the Peer Specialist will work closely with Substance Use / OSAR Counselors, Case Managers, Nursing Staff, Management and other BTCS staff to ensure continuity of care for individuals receiving services. The Peer Specialist may be asked to work a variable schedule with some evenings and weekends, as needed.

CredentialsMinimum Qualifications: Lived experience of substance use recovery, High School Diploma or equivalent, Valid Texas Driver’s License. This position will require documentation of a certification as a Peer Recovery Support Specialist (PRSS). Must have valid Texas Driver's License.

Preferred Qualifications: Current WRAP Seminar II certificate, Re-entry endorsement, Co-Occurring endorsement, Mental Health Peer Support Certification by Via Hope, WHAM practitioner, Seeking Safety practitioner
Salary Amount$14.67 - $17.67 DOE/hr
