Job Description

As a Behavioral Health Counselor employee will work alongside the Director of Integrated Health Care and School-Based Services. This position also requires the Behavioral Health Counselor provide services as allowable under the license to children and youth and as a Behavioral Health Consultant to ISD faculty. A person in this unique position must feel confident working independently, be efficient at time management, and have wide range of clinical experience.

As a Behavioral Health Counselor, one will provide therapeutic mental health services primarily to children, Youth and Families in accordance with best-practice standards, evidence-based interventions and individualized recovery planning. Therapies might include, but are not limited to, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Play Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Counseling services will be provided in Round Rock ISD facilities/offices, and or in the community and may be provided in vivo or via telehealth, as appropriate and approved by the Clinical Director. This position may also receive referrals for adults when clinically appropriate. This position will have the opportunity to participate in and/or lead community education, engagement and outreach events and programming (i.e. groups, workshops, classes, courses).

The goals of this position are to help improve recognition, treatment and management of psychosocial/behavioral problems and medical conditions in the enrolled population. This position provides consultation services to student and families referred by ISD faculty. The primary role is that of a consultant; however, each clinic setting is unique and requires clinical flexibility and collaboration with ISD staff.

CredentialsMinimum Qualifications: Master’s Degree in Social Work from an accredited college or university, current licensure by the State of Texas as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or a master’s degree in psychology, counseling or related field and licensure by the State of Texas as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). The candidate will be credentialed through Bluebonnet Trails Community Services. Must have a valid Texas Driver's License.
