This position is responsible for conducting screening, assessment and brief intervention to individuals seeking substance use services. The position will be responsible for providing diagnostic impressions of substance use utilizing DSM 5 criteria; engaging individuals in a process of informed consent; ensuring timely entry to substance use services/treatment in accordance with state and federal guidelines; and interacting with key agencies (i.e. probation/parole; DFPS; mental health agencies) to ensure a seamless provision of care. This position will further be responsible for engaging consumers in brief intervention; motivational counseling; crisis intervention and case management to support continuum of care. The position will be based out of an OSAR office and will require travel within the community or to surrounding communities to ensure timely service provision. This position is under the direction of OSAR Region 7, a 30 county region in Central Texas. This position is part time with no benefits.
|Credentials||Minimum Qualifications: Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC). Will consider an LCDC-I with experience on a case-by-case basis.|
Preferred Qualifications: Qualified Credentialed Counselor (LCSW or LPC), LCDC, or LMFT, who is licensed and in good standing in the State of Texas. Familiarity with HHSC rules and guidelines with respect to eligibility criteria and availability for HHSC-funded substance abuse treatment services. Bilingual (Spanish). Experienced in CMBHS
