This position provides physical therapy to infants, toddlers and families through assessment of needs, development of service plans, direct physical therapy, consultation and service coordination. The primary focus of this position is to engage the parent or caregiver and support the family in learning needed skills to ensure continued development of their child. Knowledge of typical and atypical development, particularly motor development. Knowledge and expertise in treatment methodologies in children birth to three years old and the ability to work sensitively with families from a variety of cultural orientations is critical. Exemplary communication skills are necessary in order to interface with individuals served, accurately document service provision, and work with community partners as part of linking families to other needed resources. The overall purpose for the position is to provide educational material and emotional support to families so the child can learn throughout the day and to support the attachment between the parent and the child. This position is one discipline of a transdiciplinary team and may serve as the primary service provider for a given family or may serve in a consultant role. Services are provided in the settings where the child lives, learns and plays.

|Credentials||Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Therapy (Texas PT License) from an accredited college or university. Knowledge of and experience working with infants and toddlers with developmental needs. Must have a valid Texas Driver's License.|
Preferred Qualifications: Master’s Degree and or Ph.D. Knowledge of the Texas Early Childhood Intervention system in Texas. Specialized training in specific therapeutic approaches as appropriate.
