Austin Travis County Narcotic Treatment Program
The Narcotic Treatment Program offers adults addicted to heroin or other opiates an opportunity and safe environment to recover from their addiction with proper medical supervision. Methadone or Suboxone is dispensed to treat addictions, and is combined with medical supervision, counseling, extensive education on relapse prevention, Methadone Anonymous support and HIV education.

Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP)
Texas families with uninsured children may be able to get health insurance through Children’s Medicaid and the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP). Both programs offer health care benefits, including regular checkups and dental care.

East Texas Council on Drug Abuse and Alcoholism
Substance Abuse Screening and Referral Services (OSAR): Licensed counselors provide drug and alcohol screening and assessment to those seeking state-funded treatment for addiction.
After-Hours Crisis Availability: Free confidential assistance available 24-hours/7 days per week.
Substance Abuse Subtle Screening Inventory (SASSI): The SASSI evaluation serves to identify risk of addiction and is administered to those as required by the criminal justice system.
Health For All
Health For All operates a nonprofit clinic that serves thousands of low income, medically uninsured patients every year. Our clinic provides free doctor visits, pharmaceuticals, eye exams, foot exams, lab tests, X-rays, smoking cessation, diabetes management, coumadin education and counseling services to residents of the Brazos Valley who do not have health insurance and do not qualify for government programs such as Medicaid, Medicare or county indigent funds. We are able to deliver services at a very low cost thanks to a small, dedicated staff and a large number of volunteers and community partners. By providing an alternative to expensive emergency room visits by the uninsured, Health For All saves Brazos Valley hospitals and taxpayers millions of dollars each year.
