Additional Perks: This position supervises the Behavioral Health Consultants (BHC) and provides services as both as a Behavioral Health Counselor to children and youth and as a Behavioral Health Consultant to patients in a primary care setting. As a Behavioral Health Consultant, one will work as a member of the Primary Care Clinic’s healthcare team who assists the primary care manager (PCM) in managing the overall health of their enrolled population. The BHC’s goals are to help improve recognition, treatment and management of psychosocial/behavioral problems and medical conditions in the enrolled population. The BHC provides consultation services to all patients referred by the Primary Care Team. The BHC’s primary role is that of a consultant; however, each clinic setting is unique and requires clinical flexibility. As a Behavioral Health Counselor, one will provide therapeutic mental health services primarily to children, youth and families in accordance with best-practice standards, evidence-based interventions, and individualized recovery planning. Counseling services will be provided in BTCS’ facilities/offices, and/or in the community and may be provided in vivo or via tele-video, as appropriate. The Behavioral Health Counselor may also receive referrals for adults when clinically appropriate and will have the opportunity to participate in and/or lead community education, engagement and outreach events and programming (i.e. groups, workshops, classes, courses). Supervisor duties include conducting regular supervision meetings, hiring and training, terminations, productivity monitoring and development and leading monthly meetings with staff and/or stakeholders. Credentials | Minimum Qualifications: Current licensure by the State of Texas as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), licensure by the State of Texas as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). The candidate will be credentialed through Bluebonnet Trails Community Services and the appropriate Federally Qualified Health Center. Must have a valid Texas driver’s license and maintain approved driver’s status throughout employment. Preferred Qualifications: Bilingual 2 years counseling experience |
