Under the supervision of the Director of Substance Use Services, Assistant Director of Substance Use Services and the Co-Occurring Mental Health and Substance Use (COPSD) Subject Matter Expert this position will provide COPSD intensive case management services. This position will complete formal substance use intakes with screenings and assessments, including but not limited to; biopsychosocial assessments, mental status exam, communicable disease assessment, financial eligibility, admission paperwork, consent forms, referrals to appropriate level of care, inputting DSM 5 diagnostic impression, and lastly recommendation for treatment. The COPSD case manager will also be required to collaborative complete and modify person centered treatment plans and discharge plans for after treatment has been completed.

COPSD ICM duties will include and are not limited to providing continuity of care services, linking consumers and families to all needed resources, and coordinating, monitoring, and updating services and consumer goals. Providing necessary skills training, assisting in crisis prevention, and/or providing community outreach are additional roles. As a team member of programs in substance use services, the COPSD ICM coordinates clinical and substance use treatment tools to address client’s needs, utilizing assessment, multidisciplinary coordination, and efficient, clinically appropriate utilization of agency resources. The COPSD case manager will provide orientation to the substance abuse program for outpatient services as well as the medication assisted treatment program for office-based opioid treatment.

The COPSD case manager will meet as scheduled with other members of the treatment team to coordinate client services throughout the SUD programs. This is a flexible position and the person hired may need to perform services in other clinics, when needed.

This position has the flexibility to work four, ten hours days a week.

Salary: $22.12/hr – $30.87/hr

$1.00/hour – 1 year with BTCS

$1.00/hour – 2 years with BTCS

$1.00/hour – 4 years with BTCS

$1.00/hour – 6 years with BTCS

$1.00/hour – 1 year of previous experience worked in an approved SUD Treatment Center

$1.00/hour – 2 years previous experience worked in an approved SUD Treatment Center or equivalent position with a Community Center

$1.00/hour – 4 years previous experience worked in an approved SUD Treatment Center or equivalent position with a Community Center

$1.00/hour – Advanced Licensure

$.75/hour – Bilingual

CredentialsMinimum Qualifications: Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC) or Licensed Chemical Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor Intern (LCDC-I) with minimum of 1 year experience working with co-occurring substance use and mental health disorders, working knowledge of severe and persistent mental illness, demonstrated knowledge of the effects of co-morbid disorders and their impact on those seeking substance use treatment, a minimum of one reference with explicit knowledge of LCDC’s skills working with co-morbid disorders and Bachelor’s degree in social science with equivalent coursework toward a social science major (at least 24 hours), must have a valid Texas driver’s license and maintain approved driver’s status throughout employment.

Preferred Qualifications: Preferred Qualifications: Minimum of one year’s experience working in a SUD treatment facility, Bilingual, previous experience with adolescent substance abuse treatment modality, Department of State Health services training in Cannabis Youth Treatment (CYT), Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC) and/or Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT).
