Job Description | This leadership position serves as the Youth & Family Services Manager for Behavioral Health Services in Guadalupe, Caldwell, and Gonzales Counties under the supervision of the Director of Youth & Family Mental Health Operations. The Services Manager gets to provide clinical support, oversight and supervision to the clinic’s team of Routine and Intensive Case Managers, Youth & Family Counselors, and oversight of the provision of services to youth and family in Guadalupe, Caldwell, and Gonzales Counties. Case Managers and Counselors provide direct services to individuals living with mental illness, and their families, both in the clinic and in the community. The person in this position requires an aptitude for working with people who have behavioral health or mental health diagnosis. This position also requires knowledge of psychotherapeutic medications as well as evidence-based practices and contraindications in the promotion of recovery for individuals with severe and persistent mental illnesses. This position requires knowledge and skills in assessment, collaborative person-centered recovery, differential diagnosis as well as wellness and recovery-oriented systems of care. Under the supervision of the Director of Youth & Family Mental Health Operations, the Y&F Services Manager is responsible for the overall clinical operations of the mental health clinic for children services including supervision of personnel and budget, and management of case managers’ schedules and caseloads. Case Manager supervision includes ensuring appropriate scheduling, accurate data entry, and appropriate service provision. The person in this position is also responsible for hiring, onboarding, ongoing supervision, and termination recommendations. Monthly documented supervision, and monthly documented team meetings, are required. Y&F Services Manager is responsible for keeping staff updated with the most current trainings to fulfill their positions. This position requires an aptitude for working with people in a medical setting that requires site consultation and assessments/treatment recommendations frequently throughout a workday. The position will assist in ensuring that programs adhere to contractual and agency guidelines. This position is one discipline of a multidisciplinary team and will be working closely with the individuals and families they serve and as a consultant to other staff. In addition to direct service provision, the person in this role may be asked to supervise other providers, engage in program development, or develop special projects. The person in the position will also provide support to the entire behavioral health clinic as Manager on Duty (MOD) at least one day per week. As Services Manager, the person in this position will role-model and coach in person-centered language, case conceptualization skills, crisis intervention skills, ethical decision-making, appropriate boundaries, successful achievement of expectations and self-care. The Service Manager will also be responsible for coaching behavioral health case managers and crisis providers during recovery team meetings and supervision to 1) consider application of various skills training curriculums, 2) review completed Person Centered Recovery Plans using the associated audit tools, 3) facilitate self or peer-review of progress notes using the Progress Note Audit Tool, 4) promote self-care by allotting time for discussion and review of articles, audio/video clips and/or books on this subject, 5) assess for the need of and promote further professional development by initiating and arranging training opportunities with the Director of Youth & Family 6) work to improve outcome measures, job performance and clinical care by using data and reporting systems (including performance outcomes, achievement/service hours, collaborative documentation and personal leave reports). In addition to these tasks, the Services Manager will provide support to case managers and crisis providers on topics such as engagement, identifying barriers and solutions to meeting achievement expectations and coordinating and/or providing coverage of caseloads as needed. The Services Manager will provide direct feedback and clarification to/from the Director of Youth & Family, as needed, as well as notify the Director of Youth & Family and/or other appropriate parties if any potential risks or concerns surface. The person in this position will work closely with the Director of Youth & Family and the local Center Director in implementing integration of Behavioral Health programs and other existing and developing community services and stakeholders. Credentials | Minimum Qualifications: A Bachelor’s degree from and accredited college or university with a major or equivalent course work for a major in a social, behavioral, or human service field and knowledge of mental illness. At least 3 years of management experience. Must meet BTCS driving requirements and maintain approved driving status throughout employment. Valid Texas driver’s license in good standing required. Must have excellent oral and written communication skills. Preferred Qualifications: A Master’s degree from an accredited college or university with clinical license, or pursuing clinical licensure (i.e., LMSW/LCSW, LPC-Associate/LPC, LMFT-Associate/LMFT). Clinical licensure as an LCSW, LPC, LMFT, or Phd. Additional licensure as a Texas board approved supervisor to provide clinical supervision to LMSW, LPC-I, or LMFT-A licensees seeking advance licensure. Five years experience, with at least two of those years providing case management services to individuals with mental illness in an outpatient setting. Bilingual preferred. |
