Job Description | The Professional Development Coordinator works under the direct supervision of the Director of Training. Primary job duties include: Assisting with and supporting the provision of new employee orientation to integrated service provider staff that includes, but is not limited to, instruction on ANSA/CANS guidelines, service provision and documentation of services; certifying staff in CPR, SAMA, and other certifications needed by service providers; providing ongoing support and training to current staff and contractors as needed and requested; and coordination of suicide prevention and awareness trainings. This position will also research, develop and present innovative elective courses based on the ongoing needs of staff employed by Bluebonnet Trails Community Services. This position is responsible for the maintenance of accurate training records and the provision of timely reminders to all employees regarding required refresher classes. This individual must be skilled in oral and written communication, instructing others and facilitating workshops, have a comfort with both in-person and remote instruction and possess strong interpersonal skills. This position will require being able to manage multiple responsibilities and be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a large and diverse workforce. This position will also be responsible for providing reports as requested by management staff. Credentials | Minimum Qualifications: A bachelor’s degree or higher with a major in social, behavioral, or human service field including, but not limited to: psychology, social work, medicine, nursing, rehabilitation, counseling, sociology, human development, gerontology, educational psychology, education, or criminal justice. A minimum of one years’ experience in a community center setting. Experience in client rights. Strong communication and computer skills. Ability to effectively train in a group or individual setting. Must have a valid Texas Driver’s License and maintain approved driver’s status throughout employment. Preferred Qualifications: QMHP-CS status and two or more years’ experience in a community center setting. Certified to train CPR, BLS, and/or SAMA. |
