(1685) Crisis Therapist – Diversion Center

Job Description

Under the supervision of the Diversion Center Program Manager, the Licensed Professional of the Healing Arts (LPHA) is a member of the Williamson County Crisis Team.  The position is responsible for initial intakes and discharge planning decisions.  The LPHA performs daily face-to-face clinical intake assessments and is responsible for initiating a crisis treatment plan and engaging individuals throughout their stay to achieve rapid crisis stabilization.  The clinician must be able to prioritize duties to provide rapid stabilization services during the 23-hour observation period, such as crisis assessment, crisis counseling, brief solution-focused therapy, substance use counseling, family sessions, diagnostic assessments, coordination of care, discharge planning including facilitation of placement and safety planning. A person may be discharged to either a lower level or a higher level of care, and discharge planning must occur to support the care recommended. The LPHA works with an interdisciplinary treatment team and participates in staffing/shift change reports on a daily basis. This position requires support and consultation to the Diversion Center Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) staff, contracting behavioral health technicians, and other members of the interdisciplinary team.  

 

The Diversion Center Crisis LPHA must possess strong knowledge of the principles, methods, techniques and practices of working in a person-centered and trauma-informed way with individuals experiencing a crisis due to behavioral health, substance use, intellectual and developmental, or co-occurring needs.  The LPHA must ascribe to and demonstrate behaviors that align with both the vision and mission of Bluebonnet Trails Community Services at-large and the values foundational to the creation of the diversion center program. The LPHA must be able to communicate effectively with diverse cultures and socio-economic populations. Skills associated with and experience using integrated computer database programs to access files and document treatment services is required.

 

The LPHA must possess an aptitude for working both independently and collaboratively. Cross-training to support other crisis programs, including Crisis Respite Unit, Mobile Crisis Outreach Team, and Youth Therapeutic Respite is required.

Salary: $33.45 – $46.31/hr

Applicable Differentials:

Wilco Crisis: $1.00/hour

2 years previous Crisis LPHA experience:  $2.00/hour

4 years previous Crisis LPHA experience:  $1.50/hour

1 year tenure with BTCS: $2.00/hour

3 years tenure with BTCS: $1.00/hour

Bilingual: $.75/hour

Advanced Licensure (PhD): $1.00/hour

Evening Shift: $2.00/hour

Overnight Shift: $4.00/hour (on call only)

Weekend Shift: $4.00/hour

CredentialsMinimum Qualifications: Minimum of two years crisis/case management experience. Clinical licensure is required (LCSW, LPC, LMFT, PhD). Must have excellent oral and written communication skills. Must have a valid Texas Driver’s License and maintain approved driver’s status throughout employment.

Must have skills and experience using integrated computer database programs to access files and document treatment services and the ability to organize and prioritize work assignments.
