Job Description | This position is at the center of a unique and exciting partnership between Bluebonnet Trails Community Services and the Round Rock Independent School District. The Behavioral Health Counselor will work full-time on the various campuses of RRISD, providing individual and family therapy to students all of ages while working alongside the Intake and Counseling Service Manager, Director of Youth and Family Services and The Regional Center Director. A person in this unique position must feel confident working independently and as a member of an interdisciplinary team, be efficient at time management, and have a wide range of clinical experience and expertise. As a Behavioral Health Counselor, one will provide therapeutic mental health services primarily to children, youth, and families in accordance with best-practice standards, evidence-based interventions and individualized recovery planning. Therapies might include, but are not limited to, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Play Therapy, Sand Tray Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Counseling services will be provided in Round Rock ISD facilities/offices, and or in the community and may be provided in vivo or via telehealth, as appropriate and approved by the Clinical Supervisor. This position will have the opportunity to participate in and/or lead community education, engagement and outreach events and programming (i.e. groups, workshops, classes, courses). The goals of this position are to help improve recognition, treatment and management of psychosocial/ behavioral problems and medical conditions in the enrolled population. This position provides therapeutic services to student and families referred by ISD counselors and allows for opportunities for consultation. The primary role is that of a therapist; however, each clinic setting is unique and requires clinical flexibility and collaboration with ISD staff. Credentials | Minimum Qualifications: A master’s degree in psychology, counseling or related field and current licensure by the State of Texas as a Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, or Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist. The candidate will be credentialed through Bluebonnet Trails Community Services. Must have a valid Texas Driver's License, meet Bluebonnet Trails Community Services driving requirements, and maintain approved driving status throughout employment. Preferred Qualifications: Previous experience working in a school-based position. Bilingual (English/Spanish). |
