Job Description | This Registered Nurse (RN) performs nursing and supervisory duties for the outpatient Withdrawal Management program and the 4 bed Withdrawal Management Unit under the leadership of the Director of Residential Nursing, the Director of Outpatient Nursing, and the Withdrawal Management Program Director. The person chosen for this position must possess strong knowledge of the principles, methods, and practices of working with individuals with psychiatric and mental health, medical diagnoses, substance use disorders and detoxification of substances. Responsibilities include nursing focused assessments, monitoring of medication administration, education regarding diagnosis, providing training to support staff within the center. The RN will assess and follow nursing care plans and will communicate findings with the RN, physician, nurse practitioner, behavioral health staff and treatment team. The RN is responsible for admission of individuals into the outpatient program, continued monitoring for stabilization, completing refills for prescribed medications and triaging calls Monday through Friday 7 AM to 4 PM. The RN will report to the Georgetown unit for work each day but may work from other clinics in our programming counties to ensure all nursing staff have proper withdrawal management education, knowledge, and support. This RN must have the ability to communicate effectively with diverse cultures and socio-economic populations. Tasks and documentation of services are provided in accordance with accepted legal and ethical nursing standards. Other duties may include individual assessments, laboratory collections and interpretation of lab results, individual and family education regarding medications, health and nutrition, mental illness, and substance use.
