(2018) Director of Service Coordination

Job Description

The Director of Service Coordination reports to the Director of Intellectual and Developmental Disability (IDD) Services and is responsible for the efficient and effective delivery of IDD Service Coordination services within the following programs:  General Revenue; Community First Choice; Texas Home Living and Home and Community Based Services.  The position supervises all IDD Service Coordination Supervisors and is responsible for ensuring the IDD Service Coordination Program adheres to policies, procedures, billing requirements, state contractual requirements, and Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) best practices.

This role brings leadership experience as a successful team builder with a history of achieving measurable quality outcomes, customer satisfaction, regulatory compliance, and financial stability. The Director of Service Coordination will handle complaints, return calls to individuals, legally authorized representatives (LARs), family caregivers, and others as requested. The position also provides consultation, guidance, direction, or intervention in crisis situations, as needed.

Other functions include participating in Contract Accountability and Oversight annual reviews, corrective action planning, continuous quality improvement workgroups, partnership meetings, and Compliance Reviews by HHSC or BTCS Quality Management.

The position is responsible for developing and maintaining effective internal and external relationships. In partnership with the entire Bluebonnet Trails Community Services leadership team and staff, this position is responsible for promoting the Vision, Mission and Values of the Center.

Location: All BTCS Service Areas; Bastrop, Burnet, Caldwell, Fayette, Gonzales, Guadalupe, Lee, and Williamson Counties

Salary: $38.43 – 39.43/hr

Applicable Differentials:

$1.00/hr Master’s Degree in Human Services

CredentialsMinimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in human services field; 3+ years management experience. Must have working knowledge of service coordination functions for at least 2 years.

Preferred Qualifications: 5+ years’ experience in the management and supervision of programs equivalent to GR community service coordination and/or Medicaid Waiver programs; current experience in accessing resources to person’s served; person and family-directed planning processes; familiarity of service coordination TAC rules and performance contract for Authority Functions; Master’s level degree.
