Job Description | Under the supervision of the Director of Crisis Services, this mental health professional is a leader on the Guadalupe County Crisis Team. This position supervises the 10-bed Crisis Respite Unit facility and will assist with providing appropriate supports to a variety of behavioral health, intellectual developmental disability, and substance use related crisis situations. The Program Manager provides oversight of total program operations including hiring, training, staff supervision, and management of the day-to-day operations. This position partners with leadership internally as well as externally with community partners, including law enforcement, the medical community, families, and social services agencies in a collaborative effort to assist persons in crisis. The individual utilizes strong knowledge of the principles, methods, techniques and practices of working with individuals experiencing a behavioral health, substance use, IDD, or co-occurring needs crisis, and have the ability to communicate effectively with diverse cultures and socio-economic populations. Delivers presentations on services and is a liaison with community partners. Position will utilize knowledge of public mental health and community resources to collaboratively safety plan with persons in crisis to access appropriate services. Utilizes a unique set of skills and experiences using integrated computer database programs (multitask to review information in multiple systems while engaging and assessing a person in crisis over the phone). This position works a flexible schedule as part of an interdisciplinary team of behavioral health specialists and rotates into a supervisory on call rotation. M-F 8a-5p.
