Job Description | This Position, properly credentialed as a Psychiatrist, Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP), or Physician Assistant (PA) is responsible for the delivery of professional and competent psychiatric care (primarily or entirely in person) to a full caseload prorated based on % FTE, to individuals in need of psychiatric care. Service provision may include, as assigned depending upon the needs of the location: psychiatric evaluations, medication management, treatment planning, emergency evaluations, medication assisted treatment for substance use disorders, and other specified psychiatric services or related activities. Duties may also include, but are not limited to, delegation (for physicians) of prescriptive authority to nurse practitioners and physician assistants, staff consultation, quality review activities, treatment team participation, training of students, and participation in any applicable on-call schedule. The Position is responsible for maintaining all licensing and certifications necessary for the provision of assigned services, and for compliance with BTCS (and applicable contracted site) policies, training, procedures, and billing code requirements. This Position provides Jail-Based Competency Restoration services (Williamson County and as developed), other justice-involved services to multiple counties as developed, and outpatient services to the Williamson County (Round Rock) and Burnet County Child and Adult Mental Health Clinics, based on credentials and center needs. Services may also be provided to all BTCS or contracted sites, as assigned. Must be able to document services as assigned by the site including the use of an electronic medical record; documentation will be completed within a timely manner as defined by the assigned location. By hire date: Certification of completion of residency in psychiatry; Current, active license to practice medicine in Texas as issued by the Texas Medical Board; Current, active Controlled Substance Registration Certificate issued by the U.S. Department of Justice, Drug Enforcement Administration (or in process). Unrestricted eligibility to participate in provider network for Medicare/Medicaid/other third-party payers. Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN): Registered Nurse with active license from Texas Board of Nursing as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner-Board Certified (PMHNP-BC) with Prescriptive Authority for adult, child and adolescent psychiatric disorders; Current, active Controlled Substance Registration Certificate issued by the U.S. Department of Justice, Drug Enforcement Administration (or in process).
