Job Description

Under the direction of the Director of Nursing, the Nurse Manager, and the Regional Clinic Director, this CMA or LVN will provide support for psychiatric and behavioral health services in an outpatient clinic based in the Bastrop clinic.

The CMA or LVN should possess a positive attitude, a caring spirit and be able to work within a multidisciplinary team. This position supports the prescribing physicians and nurse practitioners to ensure a structured clinic flow and is responsible for obtaining vital signs, weight, height, BMI, recording information in the electronic medical record, staging medication consents, and obtaining medication authorizations to ensure no lapse in prescriptions.

This position may also provide education on nutrition, medications, diagnosis, and other health related concerns, giving injections, performing venipuncture, administering urine drug screens, pregnancy tests. The position is responsible for adhering to all agency policies and procedures. This position will report to work Monday-Friday, 8AM – 5 PM. No on call or weekend work is expected or required.

Salary: $17.51 – $21.50/hr

$1.00 for any of the following for CMA

  • phlebotomy certification
  • 1-year primary care experience

$1.00 for any of the following for LVN

  • 1-year primary care experience

CredentialsMinimum Qualifications:
- Certified Medical Assistant, or
- Licensed Vocational Nurse
- At least 1-year experience working in an outpatient clinic
- Must have valid Texas driver’s license and maintain approved driver’s status throughout employment.

Preferred Qualifications:
- At least 1-years’ experience providing behavioral health services in any of the following settings: outpatient, inpatient, residential care, or clinic.
- Bilingual in Spanish and/or ASL.
