Job Description | The Apprenticeship Job Coach will work with people who have a diagnosed Intellectual and Developmental Disability, and/or Autism, and/or mental illness. The Job Coach will teach work skills through job coaching to teach a person the steps required to complete each work task, skills training to teach appropriate social skills and communication skills, and supports that involve advocating for the person to develop a strong support system at work and at home. The Job Coach will be responsible for completing daily documentation of services and progress and weekly assessments and reports. The Job Coach will provide classroom instruction and transportation to apprentices as needed. This position will serve approximately 10 to 12 people in apprenticeships per vocational cycle that will take place at various employer sites in Guadalupe County. The purpose of the apprenticeship program is to teach work skills that prepare people for competitive employment. All services and training are provided in-person. This position is funded through a grant. The work schedule is Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm. Location: Guadalupe County Salary: $20.44 – $23.19/hr Why join our team? Credentials | Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or GED and at least two years of paid or unpaid experience providing services to people with disabilities, or an associate's degree in rehabilitation, business, marketing or a related human services field, and at least one year of paid or unpaid experience providing services to people with disabilities; or a bachelor's degree in rehabilitation, business, marketing or a related human services field, and at least six months of paid or unpaid experience providing services to people with disabilities. Must have Texas Driver’s License and maintain approved driving status throughout employment. Preferred Qualifications: Experience working with people that have disabilities.
