Job Description | This position performs professional nursing duties as assigned in a 4 bed Detoxification Unit under the leadership of the Director of Residential Nursing and the Crisis Services Program Director. This Registered Nurse (RN) must possess strong knowledge of the principals, methods, and practices of working with individuals with psychiatric and mental health, medical diagnoses, substance use disorders and detoxification of substances. Responsibilities include nursing triage and assessment upon admission, medication administration and monitoring, education regarding diagnosis, providing RN training and delegation to support staff within the center. The RN will assess and complete nursing care plans and will communicate findings with the physician, nurse practitioner, behavioral health staff and treatment team. This RN must have the ability to communicate effectively with diverse cultures and socio-economic populations. Tasks and documentation of services are provided in accordance with accepted legal and ethical nursing standards. This RN will work a 7A-7P or 7P-7A, 12-hour day shift with rotating weekends and the ability to create their block schedule. This RN will also be cross trained at the Crisis Respite Unit and the Diversion Center. Location: Georgetown Salary: $39.42/hr Applicable Differentials:

Credentials | Minimum Qualifications: 1. Graduated from an accredited school of nursing and licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state of Texas with at least 1-year recent nursing experience working with individuals with substance use disorders, experience in an inpatient and hospital medical setting and or detoxification unit. 2. Ability to work collaboratively and be part of a multidisciplinary professional team. 3. Computer literate with working knowledge of Windows/MS office applications. 4. Excellent written and oral communication skills 5. Must have a valid Texas Driver’s License and maintain approved driver’s status throughout employment 6. Experience working with OSAR and SUD programs Preferred Qualifications: 1. ANCC Psychiatric/Mental Health Certification or CARN certification 2. 3+ years’ experience working with individuals in an inpatient psychiatric setting, inpatient medical detoxification unit, or emergency room experience. 3. Bilingual in Spanish 4. Experience working with OSAR and SUD programs |
