Job Description

Under the direction of BTCS Director of Care Coordination, this position will maintain a thorough understanding of local resources and protocols and strategies to expedite care. Under the daily, site-based supervision of the Williamson County Director for District Court Administration, this position will determine best approach and coordinate care of individuals ordered to, or recommended for, community-based services or ongoing treatment; coordinate plans with judges, attorneys, the BTCS Jail-Based Care Coordinator and Jail Diversion Specialist; and inform the court of the status of an individual court-ordered into treatment.

The Court-Based Care Coordinator provides culturally responsive, trauma-informed, and person-centered services. This position works within and promotes an integrated holistic model for healthcare at Bluebonnet Trails Community Services (BTCS), which is a Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic.  The successful candidate possesses a passion and aptitude for working with individuals with chronic and severe mental illness, intellectual, developmental and/or substance use needs involved in the criminal justice system. Knowledge of the court processes, case management functions, substance use treatment, crisis services, community resources, and evidence-based practices in the mental health and criminal justice systems is required. This position necessitates innovative thinking, patience, resiliency, skills in advocacy, service coordination, mental health assessment and evaluation, collaborative person-centered recovery planning and dual-diagnosis treatment. The Court-Based Care Coordinator effectively works independently and on a team; prioritizes needs under the direction of the Williamson County Director for District Court Administration; and is able to balance self-care while performing duties as assigned with a positive attitude.

The schedule for this position is Monday through Friday 8 am to 5 pm. At times this position may require evening hours so a flexible schedule is necessary.

Salary: $20.95 – $28.70/hr

Applicable Differentials: 

.75/Bilingual

1.00/Masters

Up to $2.00/hour previous experience at a community center

Up to $4.00/hour BTCS Tenure

CredentialsMinimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in a human services field
• Comprehensive knowledge of mental health diagnoses
• At least 1 year of experience in the field of community health care
• Ability to work as a member of a team as well as working independently
• Must demonstrate strong communication and documentation skills including excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to produce documents in Word and Excel
• Ability to lead and facilitate group processes
• Ability to analyze and interpret data
• Ability to handle multiple projects and work cooperatively with multiple teams and individuals to develop work plans and timed outcomes
• Must have a valid Texas Driver's License and maintain approved driver’s status

Preferred Qualifications:
• Master’s Degree in Human Services field
• Licensed as an LCSW, LPC, or LMFT or pursuing advanced licensure
• At least 3 years of experience with justice-involved populations
• Bilingual
