(3001) Relief Pool Registered Nurse (RN) Withdrawal Management

Job Description

This Registered Nurse (RN) performs nursing duties as assigned and supervised in a 4 bed Withdrawal Management Unit under the leadership of the Director of Residential Nursing and the Program Director. The person chosen for this position must possess strong knowledge of the principles, methods, and practices of working with individuals with psychiatric and mental health, medical diagnoses, substance use disorders and detoxification of substances.

Responsibilities include nursing focused assessments, medication administration and monitoring, education regarding diagnosis, providing training to support staff within the center. The RN will assess and follow nursing care plans and will communicate findings with the physician, nurse practitioner, behavioral health staff and treatment team.

This RN must have the ability to communicate effectively with diverse cultures and socio-economic populations. Tasks and documentation of services are provided in accordance with accepted legal and ethical nursing standards.

Location: Georgetown

Salary: $58.71 – $72.46/hr

  • 2.00/hour, 2 years prior crisis experience
  • 1.50/hour, 4 years prior crisis experience
  • 1.00/hour, 2 years previous community center experience
  • 1.00/hour, 4 years previous community center experience
  • 1.00/hour, Master’s Degree
  • 1.00/hour, Advanced Licensure
  • 1.00/hour, PhD
  • .75/hour, Bilingual, ASL
  • .50/hour, LCDC
  • Up to 4.00/hour, tenure with BTCS

CredentialsMinimum Qualifications:
1.Graduated from an accredited school of nursing and licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state of Texas
with at least 2-year recent nursing experience in behavioral health and or substance use nursing.
Experience can be in any inpatient, outpatient, or residential treatment type setting.
2. Ability to work collaboratively and be part of a multidisciplinary professional team.
3. Computer literate with working knowledge of Windows/MS office applications.
4. Excellent written and oral communication skills
5. Must have a valid Texas Driver’s License and maintain approved driver’s status throughout employment.

Preferred Qualifications:
1. 3+ years’ experience working with individuals in an inpatient psychiatric setting, inpatient medical
detoxification unit, or emergency room experience.
2. Bilingual in Spanish
3. Experience working with OSAR and SUD programs
