Job Description | The Supported Employment/Education Specialist (SEES) is a clinically informed and specialized skills training position. They work as part of the ClearPath Early Onset Psychosis Team, which is a coordinated specialty care team that provides services to individuals with mental health challenges who are experiencing the early stages of a primary psychotic disorder. The purpose of Employment and Education Services is to provide training and supports needed to enable individuals to develop the ability and skills to secure and maintain competitive employment independently. The SEES gets to collaborate with team members, families, and community members to support a wraparound care model to promote gainful employment and/or education. This position supports people learning to use skills and strategies to improve adaptive functioning through self-regulation, social skills, and skillful communication and self-advocacy of their wants and needs. This position will work with a caseload of 20 to 30 individuals, ranging from 15 to 30 years of age and demonstrates good communication skills and the ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with individuals, families, employers and other community stakeholders. This position is allowed to work a variable schedule, as needed, to meet individuals’ employment and educational needs. This position serves families in Bastrop, Fayette, and Lee counties. Essential Functions: Career Coaching & Guidance– Conduct one-on-one sessions to assess a person’s career goals, skills, and educational needs. Employment Planning– Create tailored employment and education plans for each person, including skill assessments, resume writing, interview preparation, and job search strategies. Job Placement Support– Identify job opportunities and liaise with employers to match clients with suitable positions. Workshops & Training– Develop and facilitate workshops on job readiness, employment skills, and professional development. Community Partnerships– Collaborate with local employers, educational institutions, and community organizations to provide clients with employment, apprenticeship, and training opportunities. Client Support– Offer continuous support to clients during their job search, ensuring follow-up after job placement or enrollment in educational programs. Data Management– Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of client progress, outcomes, and services provided using appropriate databases. Education Pathway Development– Assist clients in identifying appropriate education pathways (e.g., GED programs, vocational training, college enrollment) that align with their career aspirations. Credentials | Minimum Qualifications: A Bachelor’s degree from and accredited college or university with a major or equivalent course work for a major in a social, behavioral, or human service field and knowledge of mental illness. Must have a valid Texas Driver’s License and maintain approved driver’s status throughout employment. *If degree is not in a human services field, a minimum of 24 college credits in a human services field are required Preferred Qualifications: One year of experience in mental health assessment and/or crisis intervention and screening; Master’s degree in psychology, social work or a related human service field. Bilingual preferred. |
