Job Description | This Registered Nurse (RN) will work within the Youth Therapeutic Respite Program which provides therapeutic respite services in a 10-bed unit to children and youth between the ages of 5 and 17 years old. This RN will work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to support children who are at risk of crisis but do not meet the criteria for hospitalization. Nursing is provided around the clock and with the assistance of support staff who work alongside the team. This Nursing position performs professional nursing work or professional administrative nursing work with in a newly designed therapeutic respite community. This position will provide for the professional nursing care and treatment of individuals. Primary responsibilities include medication monitoring and administration, individual assessments, laboratory collections and interpretation of lab results, individual and family education regarding medications, health and nutrition, mental illness, and substance use. The nurse will provide care as the Charge Nurse, monitoring and participating with the children even while on the playground. This Nurse will be under the supervision of the Director of Nursing and the Program Director. This RN will have the opportunity to work within a multi-disciplinary team and have excellent communication skills. This position will work 12-hour day shifts (7am – 7pm) with every other weekend off. Location: Seguin Salary: $43.39 – $51.14/hr Applicable Differentials: Up to $2.00/hour – previous experience at a community center in a similar role Up to $4.00/hour – tenure with BTCS $1.00/hour – Psych Cert .75/hour – Bilingual Shift Differentials as follows: · · Evening shift differential of 2.00 per hour from 5 pm-7 pm · · Overnight shift differential of 4.00 per hour after 7 pm · · Weekend shift differential of 4.00 per hour · · Overnight weekend shift differential of 6.00 per hour Why join our team? Credentials | Minimum Qualifications: 1.Graduated from an accredited school of nursing and licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state of Texas with at least 1-year recent nursing experience. 2. Ability to work collaboratively and be part of a multidisciplinary professional team. 3. Computer literate with working knowledge of Windows/MS office applications. 4. Excellent written and oral communication skills 5. Must have a valid Texas Driver’s License and maintain approved driving record throughout employment. Preferred Qualifications: 1. ANCC Psychiatric/Mental Health Certification or CARN certification 2. Experience working with children in psychiatric settings, with individuals with developmental disabilities, substance use disorders and or primary care needs 3. Bilingual in Spanish |
