Job Description

Position Description: Under the direct supervision of the Youth Therapeutic Respite Program Manager, this position provides the important role of Intensive Case Management to children, youth, and their families ages 5-17 receiving services in the Therapeutic Respite Program for Youth. This professional is a key member in the assessment and collaboration with individuals served and their parent/LAR to develop recovery plans. An aptitude for working with children and youth with mental health and/or developmental disability diagnoses, knowledge of psychotherapeutic medications, evidence-based practices, and wellness and recovery-oriented systems of care are key components to this position. Intensive Case Management with the individual enrolled will focus on providing the appropriate delivery of services towards and monitoring progress toward goals developed in team meetings. Intensive Case Management with the parent/LAR focuses on coordinating and insuring fidelity of the wraparound process according to the wraparound principles set forth in training. This position has the flexibility to provide services on the unit, community, schools, and youth’s home.

Program Description: The Bluebonnet Trails Community Services (BTCS) Youth Therapeutic Respite Program will provide a safe, enriching environment that provides a wraparound approach to offering care coordination, family partner services, and an array of innovative therapies for youth between ages 5-17 years old with behavioral health needs. Evidence-based practices will be implemented in play therapy, sand tray therapy, trauma-focused cognitive behavior therapy, family therapy, applied behavior analysis, brief-solution focused therapy and more. This 10-bed, 24/7 structured and therapeutic program will focus the following objectives.

1. Provide culturally sensitive and linguistically diverse services that focus on reunification and development of meaningful relationships.

2. Provide a safe, supportive, and accepting environment.

3. Provide services and supports that stabilize, enrich, and develop skills to support effective coping, problem-solving and socialization skills.

4. Connect and partner with BTCS services and/or community services, supports and other resources that will help the child and family with a successful transition to their home environment.

To meet the above objectives, therapeutic and structured services will be provided that include educational, behavioral, and other recovery and trauma-informed focused activities. The treatment team may include Psychiatrist, and other medical providers, Mental Health Professionals, Family Partners, teachers, Care Coordinators, and Licensed Therapists.

Salary: $24.76 – $36.51/hr

Applicable Differentials:

Up to $3.50/hour – previous crisis experience in a similar role

Up to $4.00/hour, tenure with BTCS

$0.75/hr Bilingual/ASL

Up to $2.00/hour, previous LMHA experience in a similar position

$1.00/hour, advanced licensure

.50/hour, LCDC

Knowledge of mental illness as defined in the DSM-IV is required.
Strong communication and organization skills.

Preferred Qualifications: One year of experience in crisis residential facility with youth
Master’s degree in psychology, social work or a related human service field.
