Under the supervision of the Director of Substance Use Services, Assistant Director of Substance Use Services and the Prevention Supervisor, the Parenting Case Manager will work with parents and expectant parents to decrease the impact of substance use and promote wellness. Essential functions: provide case management to parents and expectant parents, facilitate parenting education and fun family activities, deliver community presentations, attend community meetings and events, provide drug-related and reproduction-related education along with distribution of materials, link clients to needed resources. The Parenting Case manager has a relevant position as a community connector and acts as a subject expert to support and advocate for families. It requires compassion, patience, innovative thinking, skills in service coordination, advocacy, and a collaborative person-centered approach. This position maintains a manageable caseload and program documentation. The position offers the opportunity to acquire a lot of knowledge in the areas of substance use, parenting, trauma, and social determinants of health. The person in this position will effectively work independently and on a team, prioritize needs, engage in regular meetings and training requirements, and perform duties as assigned with a positive attitude. This position is hybrid with 2-3 days at the office. 40% – 60% travel is required within 30-county region 7. Credentials | Minimum Qualifications: Associate or Bachelor’s degree in behavioral health field or minimum of two years’ experience in SUD outreach, intervention or treatment. Must have a valid Texas driver’s license and maintain approved driver’s status throughout employment. Preferred Qualifications: Minimum of 1 year experience working with pregnant substance using population, housing stability as a case manager. Lived experience as a parent, preferred. Lived experience with substance use or mental health; Bilingual, LCDCi or LCDC licensure. |
