(105) Clinic Support Specialist

Job Description

Under the supervision of the Round Rock Adult Service Manager, this unique and specialized position will provide crisis support and follow up services, Case Management, and referrals.  This position will communicate and partner with law enforcement, the medical community, schools, families, and social service agencies in a collaborative effort to assist persons in crisis. The person most successful in this role will be a collaborative, team-player.

The scheduled for this position is 8am – 5pm. At times, this position requires a flexible workday and for the person to be able to work both independently and collaboratively.  This position will provide services primarily in the Williamson County Outpatient Clinics but will also provide services in the community as needed.

This position will provide crisis assessment, assistance, and follow up for Williamson County outpatient clinic walk-ins, Medication Prescribers, Intake, Counseling, and Case Management staff. When not providing crisis services, this position will complete Skills Trainings, Person-Centered Recovery Plans, Referrals, Biometric Feedback, Hospital Discharge Follow Up appointments, and Case Management services. Depending on need, this person could carry a caseload and/or provide interim caseload coverage, and complete Intake Screenings and Intake Assessments,.

The person in this position requires an aptitude for working with people with a mental health or co-occurring substance abuse diagnoses and related challenges; this position also requires knowledge of psychotherapeutic medications as well as evidence-based practices and contraindications in the promotion of recovery for individuals with mental health diagnoses and challenges.  This position requires knowledge and skills in assessment, person-centered recovery goal planning and wellness and recovery-oriented systems of care. This position necessitates innovative thinking, patience, resiliency, skills in advocacy, service coordination, mental health assessment and evaluation, collaborative person-centered recovery planning and dual-diagnosis treatment. The person in this position will effectively work independently and on a team, prioritize needs during crisis situations, engage in regular meetings and training opportunities, and perform duties with a positive attitude.

Salary: $21.46 – $28.55/hr

CredentialsMinimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in a human services field or a degree with equivalent human services course work;

Ability to work as a member of a team within a fast-paced, recovery-focused environment is essential to this position.

Must have valid Texas driver’s license and maintain approved driving status throughout employment.


Preferred Qualifications: Master’s degree and/or clinical license in psychology, education, social work or a related human service field; one-year work or practicum/clinical experience in case management, crisis intervention and/or psychosocial rehabilitative services.

Bilingual in ASL or Spanish preferred; experience in providing concurrent documentation within an electronic database preferred.
