(1380) Access Customer Service Representative – IDD Specialist

Job Description

The Access Customer Service Representative (CSR)   plays a key role in delivering exceptional customer service and administrative support for the Access program, which is integral to the intake and enrollment process for all BTCS programs. This position seeks a proactive and empathetic individual who can effectively manage a variety of tasks, including conducting non-clinical screenings with individuals seeking services, performing financial assessments, verifying insurance information, answering calls, directing inquiries to the appropriate staff, collaborating with interdisciplinary team members, data entry, and scheduling appointments, with a special focus on tasks related to the Determination of Intellectual Disability (DID) in the IDD Intake process.  The Access CSR   will obtain and maintain expertise in DID scheduling, communication with contractors, report handling, and functions related to billing.

In addition to these responsibilities, the CSR will ensure accurate service documentation and data entry in the Electronic Health Record, maintaining detailed records while upholding high standards of customer engagement and service delivery. Often the first point of contact for most community members seeking services, the CSR must embody the BTCS mission, providing a welcoming, professional, and supportive experience for the individuals we serve.

This role demands strong communication skills, organizational ability, and a commitment to providing top-tier service in a fast-paced, people-oriented environment. Connection with individuals will be virtual and in-person. The ideal candidate will thrive in a dynamic integrated setting, always putting the needs of the individual first while aligning with BTCS’s values and standards.

Location: Any location within catchment area. Potential for on-site and remote. 

PART TIME – FTE: 50%

Hourly Salary Range: $23.02 – $27.77 

Differential Detail: 

  • .75/hour – Bilingual
  • 1.00/hour – Tenure with BTCS
  • 1.00/hour -Career ladder specialty
  • Up to $2.00/hour – previous experience with a community center in a similar role

CredentialsMinimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED; ability to organize workspace and activities using initiative; follow oral and written instructions; must be able to learn how to input information into an electronic health record; ability to stay calm and focused in a fast-paced environment; must be able to work with clients, families and staff utilizing tact and diplomacy; must be able to work collaboratively with other members of the adult, child/youth, Primary Care, Crisis, Intake and Substance Use, and IDD teams, as well as contractors. Must have a valid Texas driver’s license and maintain approved driver’s status throughout employment.

Preferred Qualifications:
Front desk and experience with financials in a behavioral health setting preferred. Bilingual in English/Spanish highly preferred. Knowledge of insurance company processes.
