Job Description | The person in this position will work with youth and their families to deliver case management, skills training and medication education primarily in community-based settings, such as homes and schools. This position uses evidenced based treatment, individualized levels of care, and person-centered recovery planning to best serve youth and their families. The person in this position will assist youth and their families with accessing community resources and provide rehabilitative services and crisis intervention when needed. All services are documented in an electronic health record and provided in collaboration with a multidisciplinary recovery team. The person in this position will have a passion and aptitude for working with youth who have severe emotional needs. Knowledge of medications, case management functions, substance use treatment, crisis services, community resources, and evidence-based practices in the behavioral health field is critical for success in the position. This position necessitates innovative thinking, patience, resiliency, skills in advocacy, service coordination, mental health assessment and evaluation, collaborative person-centered recovery planning and dual-diagnosis treatment. The person in this position will effectively work independently and on a team, prioritize needs during crisis situations, engage in regular meetings and training opportunities, and perform other duties as assigned with a positive attitude. Credentials | Minimum Qualifications: A Bachelor’s degree from and accredited college or university with a major or equivalent course work for a major in a social, behavioral, or human service field and knowledge of mental illness. Must have a valid Texas Driver’s License and maintain approved driver’s status throughout employment. *If degree is not in a human services field, a minimum of 24 college credits in a human services field are required Preferred Qualifications: One year of experience in mental health assessment and/or crisis intervention and screening; Master’s degree in psychology, social work or a related human service field.
