Job Description | The Community Liaison is a unique position that is front and center in a collaboration with Integral Care related to the St. David’s Foundation Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) Grant. This individual in this position will both represent Bluebonnet Trails Community Services in this collaboration with another LMHA and with community partners. The Community Liaison is responsible for facilitating 2-3 in-person MHFA training sessions per week using evidenced based curriculum to community members in Travis, Williamson, Bastrop and Caldwell counties. The MHFA curriculum teaches participants how to assess the risk of suicide or harm and reviews other mental health information with the participants to better equip them to assist an individual when in a behavioral health crisis. This role will also conduct assessments of mental health literacy before and after the training intervention, and provide all required documentation to the MHFA coordinator following trainings. This role also entails brief crisis intervention for participants who become distressed during the training. Work is performed under limited supervision with latitude for initiative and independent judgment. Location: Williamson, Bastrop, Caldwell, and Travis Counties; Remote work approved unless presence onsite is necessary for task specific duties. Credentials | Minimum Qualifications: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, or other human services field is required. Training and public speaking experience is necessary, and one years’ experience in a community center setting. Strong communication and computer skills. Ability to effectively train in a group or individual setting. Must have valid Texas driver’s license and maintain approved driving status throughout employment. Preferred Qualifications: Trained as a facilitator for Mental Health First Aid, Trauma-informed care certification(s); Licensed Practitioner of the Healing Arts (LPHA), LPC, LCSW, Licensed Psychologist, or LMFT is preferred. Previous experience administering grant related projects working with large data sets, training curriculum development, and/or coordination of training activities is preferred |
