Job Description | This position provides therapeutic skills training to individuals across the lifespan in accordance with best practice standards, evidence-based interventions, and individualized recovery planning. Services will include skills training and psychosocial rehabilitation and may include case management, intakes, and Hospital Discharge Follow Up appointments. These therapeutic services will be provided in BTCS’ facilities/offices, Schools, or the community, and Tele-Video, as appropriate. This position will have the opportunity to coordinate and lead group sessions. Services provided by this position also include activities and skills-training designed to address barriers and strengths related to an individual’s recovery and wellness. Services provided in this position would include assisting an individual in coordinating access to necessary care and services appropriate to the clinical needs. Other responsibilities include consultation with staff as needed one-on-one or in small groups. The Behavioral Health Specialist may participate in strategic or program planning for delivery of mental health services by this program. This position is one discipline of a multi-disciplinary team and may be the primary services provider for a given person or family system or may serve in the role of treatment team member. Credentials | Minimum Qualifications: Must meet qualifications as a Qualified Mental Health Professional in clinical supervision towards advanced licensure. Bachelor’s degree in Human Services*, comprehensive knowledge of mental health diagnoses and treatment, ability to work independently and collaboratively within a fast-paced, recovery-focused environment. A demonstrated aptitude to connect with people. Possesses a valid Texas Driver's License and maintains approved drivers’ status throughout employment. *If degree is not in Human Services, a minimum of 24 credits in a human services field. Preferred Qualifications: Clinical license in psychology, education, social work or a related human service field; one-year work or practicum/clinical experience in counseling, case management, crisis intervention and/or psychosocial rehabilitative services. Bilingual in ASL or Spanish preferred; experience in providing concurrent documentation within an electronic database preferred. |
