Job Description | This position works as a member of the Guadalupe County Crisis Team for the Adult Crisis Respite Unit located in Seguin. Under the supervision of the Adult Crisis Respite Unit Program Manager, the Crisis Respite Unit Crisis Clinician (CRU CC) will provide services to persons with IDD, mental illness, substance use or any co-occurring disorders who are in the Crisis Respite. The CRU CC is a skilled crisis clinician who provides case management to include crisis intervention and follow up services, relapse and crisis prevention services, screening and referrals to community resources and providers, individual and group skills training and psychosocial interventions. The clinician will complete intake protocols, person-centered recovery plans, and discharge planning in an environment that provides a safe and secure short-term stabilization of crisis symptoms. In addition, this crisis clinician provides Crisis Assessments as needed for walk in individuals as well as individuals in the community seeking crisis services and support for the Guadalupe Hub, utilizing evidence-based de-escalation strategies to connect with individuals and build a plan that supports safety in the least restrictive setting for the person and family in crisis. The crisis clinician collaborates closely with law enforcement, the medical community, schools, families, and social service agencies to assist persons in crisis. The crisis clinician holds strong knowledge of the principles, methods, techniques, and practices of working with individuals experiencing a crisis and has the ability to communicate effectively with diverse cultures and socio-economic populations. The clinician utilizes integrated computer database programs to access files and document treatment services. The crisis clinician has the flexibility to triage tasks and organize the workday to meet the needs of individuals in crisis. This position requires a flexible work day and may support some weekends as needed. The ability to work independently and collaboratively is essential. This position cross-trains to support other crisis programs as needed and is a part of the on-call rotation.

Credentials | Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Human Services*, comprehensive knowledge of mental health diagnoses, ability to work independently and collaboratively within a fast-paced, recovery-focused environment; minimum of one year of crisis case management experience; possesses a valid Texas Driver's License and maintains approved drivers’ status throughout employment. *If degree is not in Human Services, a minimum of 24 credits in a human services field Preferred Qualifications: Master’s degree in Human Services; pursuit of clinical licensure in counseling, behavior analysis, family therapy, social work or a related field; advanced licensure; Bilingual in ASL or Spanish; experience in providing concurrent documentation, licensure as a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC) |
