Job Description

In collaboration with leadership and treatment team, this position provides therapeutic mental health counseling to youth and families in accordance with best-practice standards, evidence-based interventions, and individualized recovery planning. Therapies might include, but are not limited to, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Play Therapy, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy. Therapy may be provided in individual, group, or family settings to support the acquisition and the mastery of functional skills that strengthen the parent-child relationship and address behavioral settings to Individual and group counseling services are provided on site for youth admitted to YTRP. Family therapy for parents/caregivers can be provided via Tele-Video, or in person at the YTRP-RR facility. Exemplary communication skills are necessary to interface with individuals served, accurately document service provision, and work with community partners as part of linking families to other needed resources.

Other responsibilities include consultation with staff as needed one-on-one or in small groups.  This position is one discipline of a multi-disciplinary team and may be the primary service provider for a given client or family system.

Essential tasks include participation as a member of an interdisciplinary team to evaluate, assess, determine eligibility, develop and carry out treatment/recovery plans, document progress and required processes, educate families and community partners, collaborate with physicians and other care providers.

Location: Round Rock, TX

Hourly Salary Range: $33.33 – $41.08

Differential Detail:

  • Up to $3.50/hour – previous crisis experience
  • Up to $2.00/hour – previous experience in a similar role with a community center in Texas
  • $1.00/hr – Ph.D.
  • $0.75 – Bilingual/ASL
  • $0.50 – LCDC Licensure
  • Evening Differential:  $2.00/hour

CredentialsMinimum Qualifications:
Licensure by the State of Texas as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or licensure by the State of Texas as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or current licensure by the State of Texas as a licensed clinical psychologist.
The candidate will be credentialed through Bluebonnet Trails Community Services. Must have a valid Texas driver’s license and maintain approved driver’s status throughout employment

Preferred Qualifications:
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in direct care of persons with a serious mental illness including experience in acute care setting.
Two years providing counseling services for people with severe and persistent mental illness.
Ability to speak, read, and write fluently in Spanish
Salary Amount$69,326.40 – $85,446.40/year
