Position Description: This position provides essential on-site leadership to the Youth Therapeutic Respite Program located in Round Rock. The Unit Manager works collaboratively with the Round Rock YTRP Program Manager to manage the program and facility. The Unit Manager is responsible for leading milieu staff and promoting a positive work culture within the program. This position is also responsible for the physical facility and condition of the milieu to ensure the treatment spaces are safe, secure, and therapeutic. Essential tasks of the Unit Manager position are the management of the clinical milieu and promotion of a positive, trauma-informed, streamlined, safe and secure therapeutic platform within the program. The Unit Manager provides crucial milieu support during crises, serving as the first response coordinator for therapeutic interventions. This Unit Manager ensures the implementation of the Round Rock YTRP token economy program through behavioral role plays, reinforcement of positive behaviors, and general program compliance. This position works collaboratively with the treatment team to ensure effective program flow. Manages individual session/group session scheduling, ensures adherence by the entire staff to the program schedule. Plays an active role in the treatment team by participating in the daily staffing meetings to provide important updates for treatment members and takes meeting minutes to publish for review. This position reports to the Round Rock YTRP Program Manager.

This full-time position operates as the Unit Manager on-site, on Thursday and Monday, between the hours of 2PM to 11PM.

Program Description: The Bluebonnet Trails Community Services (BTCS) Youth Therapeutic Respite Program will provide a safe, enriching environment that provides a wraparound approach to offering care coordination, family partner services, and an array of innovative therapies for youth between ages 5-17 years old with behavioral health needs. Evidence-based practices will be implemented in play therapy, sand tray therapy, trauma-focused cognitive behavior therapy, family therapy, applied behavior analysis, brief-solution focused therapy and more. This 16-bed, 24/7 structured and therapeutic program will focus the following objectives.

1. Provide culturally sensitive and linguistically diverse services that focus on reunification and development of meaningful relationships.

2. Provide a safe, supportive, and accepting environment.

3. Provide services and supports that stabilize, enrich, and develop skills to support effective coping, problem-solving and socialization skills.

4. Connect and partner with BTCS services and/or community services, supports and other resources that will help the child and family with a successful transition to their home environment.

To meet the above objectives, therapeutic and structured services will be provided that include educational, behavioral, and other recovery and trauma-informed focused activities. The treatment team may include Psychiatrist, and other medical providers, Mental Health Professionals, Family Partner, Education Coordinator, Care Coordinator, and Licensed Therapists.

Location: Round Rock

Salary: $24.76 – $26.51/hr (base rate includes Williamson County differential)

Applicable Differentials:

  • $0.75/hr Bi-Lingual
  • $1.00/hr Masters
  • Evening Shift Differentials (5pm-7pm): $2/hour
  • Overnight Shift Differential (7pm-11pm): $4/hour

CredentialsMinimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university with a major in a social, behavioral, or human service field, or a bachelor’s degree in any major but evidence of course work equivalent to a major in a human service field.
Knowledge of mental illness as defined in the DSM-5 services to promote wellness and recovery to individuals with mental illness is required.
Minimum of 3 years’ experience working with children and adolescents in a behavioral health residential setting and/or a crisis setting.
Must have a valid Texas driver's license

Preferred Qualifications: One year of experience in providing wellness and recovery support services in mental health, substance abuse and/or crisis intervention and screening preferred;
Master’s degree in psychology, social work or a related humans services field preferred. Bilingual preferred.
