(2107) Intensive Support Specialist Subject Matter Expert

The Bluebonnet Trails Community Services (BTCS) Intensive Support Specialist – Subject Matter Expert (SME) is responsible for providing outstanding person-centered intensive case management services as part of the Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) Team to adults who have current or historical substance use treatment needs, a diagnosed severe and persistent mental health disorder, and are participating in BTCS ACT Program. The ACT SME is a leader to the ACT ICM team, and responsible for assisting the Behavioral Health Service Manager in supervision of the team.

This position reports directly to the Behavioral Health Services Manager and requires the development and maintenance of effective, professional working relationships with legal stakeholders and other community service providers. This is a Monday through Friday, non-exempt, primarily field-based position with flexible hours dependent upon the needs of the caseload. This position involves the option to work remotely to complete only required administrative tasks and/or when televideo video services are deemed appropriate by supervisor. All remote working must be first approved by the supervisor or member of executive management team as outlined in the primary duties below. The ACT SME will manage the ACT referral list and ensure caseload assignment.

The ACT SME regularly meets with individuals in their homes, community, hospitals, crisis units, criminal justice settings, and at Bluebonnet Trails’ clinics to provide case management and psychosocial rehabilitative services. Services are intended to stabilize mental health symptoms, reduce risk of recidivism, increase the individual’s awareness of and participation with community and natural supports, develop self-advocacy, and assist with their ability to participate in independent behavioral health services. A high level of detailed electronic documentation is required and adherence to company and state guidelines is expected. A minimum of 55% of hours worked are required to be face-to-face (Televideo or In-person), billable services.

The person in this position must possess a passion and aptitude for working with individuals who have chronic and severe mental health needs and substance use dependency. Knowledge of ACT Programs, psychotherapeutic medications, intensive case management functions, substance use, abuse, and dependency, crisis services, community resources, and evidence-based practices in the mental health and criminal justice systems are required. This position necessitates innovative thinking, patience, resiliency, skills in advocacy, service coordination, mental health assessment and evaluation, collaborative person-centered recovery planning and dual-diagnosis treatment. The person in this position will effectively work independently and on a team, prioritize needs during crisis situations, engage in regular meetings and training opportunities, balance self-care, be a delight to work with, and perform duties as assigned with a positive attitude.

Salary: $23.21 – $32.96/hr

$1.00/hour – Advanced Licensure
$0.50/hour – LCDC
$1.00/hour – Obtain five (5) hours of CEU’s per month (ongoing)
$1.00/hour – Completion of ACT EBP Training
$0.50/hr LCDC

$200 Monthly Service Delivery Bonus

$4.00/hour – Weekend Differential
