Job Description | This position is responsible for the delivery of psychosocial rehabilitation services to people with severe and persistent mental illnesses, as defined by the state authority. This position updates demographic data, provides assessments required by the state authority and the Center, formulates treatment plans, provides rehabilitation skills training and documentation of services delivered in accordance with consumer need and Medicaid standards. This position should provide training in those skills that primarily focus on furthering an individual’s independent living and community skills. This training should promote community integration, increase community tenure and maintain the individual’s quality of life. This service includes activities and training designed to address the illness or symptom-related problems and behaviors that mental illness creates which precludes a person’s functioning within a living, learning and/or working environment. This position requires an aptitude for working with people who have bipolar, schizophrenia and major depression w/psychosis. This position requires knowledge and skills in assessment, service planning with consumer and local community resources, as well as knowledge of psychotherapeutic medications. Credentials | Minimum Qualifications: A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a major in a social, behavioral, or human service field or any bachelor’s degree with course work equivalent to a major in a social, behavioral, or human service field . Knowledge of mental illness as defined in the DSM-5 is required. Must have valid Texas Driver’s License and maintain approved driver’s status throughout employment. Preferred Qualifications: One year of experience in mental health assessment and/or crisis intervention and screening; Master’s degree in psychology, social work or a related human service field. Bilingual preferred. |
