(3003) PRN Registered Nurse/ Licensed Vocational Nurse

Job Description

Under the direction of the Director of Outpatient Nursing, the Regional Center Director, and the Nurse Manager this Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) provides support for psychiatric in an outpatient clinic in Bastrop, LaGrange, and Giddings. The RN or LVN should possess a positive attitude, a caring spirit and be able to work within a multidisciplinary team. This position supports the prescribing Physicians and Nurse Practitioners in the Bastrop HUB and is responsible for obtaining vital signs, weight, height, rooming patients, recording information in the electronic medical record, and staging medication consents or obtaining medication authorizations to ensure no lapse in prescription refills. This position will also provide education on nutrition, medications, diagnosis, and other health related topics. This nurse will be responsible for giving injections, performing venipuncture, administering urine drug screens, pregnancy tests along with other primary care point of care testing procedures. The position is responsible for adhering to agency policies and procedures. This position is based in Bastrop but will also be responsible for supporting the Giddings and LaGrange outpatient clinics to cover vacancies for trainings, sick leave, or vacations as needed. This position is a PRN or as needed position, Monday-Friday, 8AM-5 PM. This position may delegate or supervise other Licensed Vocational Nurses (LVNs) and Certified Medical Assistants (CMAs).

Salary: RN: $49.21 – $56.96/hr

LVN: $22.72 – $44.61/hr

CredentialsMinimum Qualifications:
1.Graduated from an accredited school of nursing hold an unencumbered license as a Registered Nurse or Licensed Vocational Nurse in the state of Texas.
2. Ability to work collaboratively and be part of a multidisciplinary professional team.
3. Computer literate with working knowledge of Windows/MS office applications, TEAMS, MS Word.
4. Excellent written and oral communication skills
5. Must have a valid Texas driver’s license and maintain approved driving status throughout employment.

Preferred Qualifications:
1. ANCC Psychiatric/Mental Health Certification, Primary Care, or CARN certification
2. Experience working with Individuals with developmental disabilities, substance use disorders, primary
care, Med/Surg
3. Experience in a behavioral health or psychiatric inpatient unit and or outpatient clinic
Salary Amount$22.72 - 56.96/hr
