Job Description | The Certified Authorized Provider – IDD Eligibility will provide diagnostic and clinical services for individuals who have diagnoses of Intellectual Developmental Disability (IDD) and/or Autism Spectrum Disorder who are seeking services and supports in the Bluebonnet Trails Community Services (BTCS) catchment area. The position requires an employee who can effectively work with individuals who have diagnoses of IDD or Autism, their families, other agency providers, local government agencies, county agencies, and school districts to promote collaborative relationships and planning for continuity of care. This position is responsible for completion of the Determination of Intellectual Disability (DID), which may include all or some of the following: diagnostic review of previous information (school FIEs, neurological testing, etc.), clinical interview to gather developmental history and overview of services sought; administration of intellectual/cognitive testing; and an assessment of adaptive functioning. The purpose of the DID is to determine if the individual meets diagnostic criteria for IDD program services. The DID report must be written in accordance with the DID Best Practice Guidelines published by Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC), as well as to BTCS standards. Documentation must be completed within BTCS standards for timeliness and accuracy. The position requires collaboration with internal programs/departments, community partners and serves as a role model for professionalism, service, communication, and teamwork. A high level of ability to exercise good independent judgment and time management skills is expected. Credentials | Minimum Qualifications: • Licensed Psychological Associate (LPA) or Licensed Specialist in School Psychology (LSSP) • Demonstrated ability to use good clinical judgment and effective work with a team in a fast-paced setting. • Demonstrated computer and documentation skills. Must have valid Texas driver’s license and maintain approved driving status throughout employment. Preferred Qualifications: • Dual licensure as a Licensed Psychological Associate and Licensed Professional Counselor or Licensed Psychologist. • Experience with psychological testing, preferably with intellectual and developmental disabilities, including pervasive developmental disorders/Autism and one-year clinical experience or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. • Experience with a Local Intellectual Development Disability Authority completing diagnostic assessments (DIDs), endorsements, and assessments to determine eligibility.
