(3055) Diversion Center Program Manager

Job Description

Program Overview:

Diversion Center provides 24/7 access to immediate crisis assessment and intervention services in a facility-based setting. Diversion Center’s primary referral sources are local law enforcement, emergency departments, and other behavioral health first responders. The core components of a crisis continuum are somewhere to call, someone to respond, and a place to go. The Bluebonnet Trails innovative Diversion Center model is highlighted within the “Best Practice in Planning and Implementing Diversion Centers” and “Planning for Diversion: A Texas Diversion Center Workbook” developed by the Texas Behavioral Health and Criminal Justice Technical Assistance Center.

Our Vision is Healthy and Fulfilled Lives, and the Diversion Center offers an interdisciplinary team of Behavioral Health Technicians, Bachelors/Masters Level Clinicians, Licensed Clinicians, Registered Nurses, Nurse Practitioners, and Psychiatrists supporting adults in crisis through evaluation and assessment, medication management, safety planning, and care coordination.

Our Mission is to continuously improve the health and independence of the persons we serve, and the Diversion Center provides critical access to care to stabilize a crisis while diverting individuals from jail, emergency rooms, and hospitalization.

Critical Impact:

At it’s core, the Diversion Center provides an option for expedited access to immediate behavioral health treatment, with a focus on pre-arrest jail diversion and reducing recidivism. The Diversion Center Program Manager oversees how we deliver care to the people we serve, how we develop and support our talented team, and how we collaborate with our community partners. Additionally, the Program Manager leads the communication with our staff and contractors on strategy for maintaining Diversion Center’s essential operations, including during emergencies and disasters.

Key Responsibilities:

  • – Lead the program operations in alignment with the Center’s mission and values
  • – Provide consistent opportunity for 360 degree feedback to direct reports, including individualized support, goal setting, and coaching
  • – Builds relationship with colleagues, collaborating across programs, seeking and offering input towards shared goals and objectives
  • – Develop and pilot ideas that improve the system of care and increase efficiency and efficacy for continuous quality improvement
  • – Effectively lead change within the team, including preparations for initiation and expansion of the Diversion Center from a 4 bed to 16 bed program
  • – Establish clear direction for the program, in alignment with local, state, and federal contracts and standards of care
  • – Continuously seek learning opportunities for evidenced-based practices and intervention, identifying opportunities to apply new knowledge to Diversion Center operation
