YES Waiver Animal Assisted TherapistDescription of Service
Animals are utilized in goal-directed treatment sessions as a modality to facilitate optimal physical, cognitive, social and emotional outcomes of a participant, such as increasing self-esteem, increasing motivation and reducing stress.
Rate of Payment
$77.44/hourAreas to be Served
Bastrop County, Burnet County, Caldwell County, Fayette County, Gonzales County, Guadalupe County, Lee County, Williamson CountyEligibility
*At least 21 years of age*Valid Texas Driver’s License or TX ID
*Pass all criminal, fraud and employability screenings
*Licensed professional with documented training and experience relative to Animal Assisted Therapy: includes a clinical social worker, professional counselor, marriage and family therapist, registered nurse, vocational nurse, physical therapist or occupational therapist
And utilize a YES Waiver endorsed certification program: Pet Partners, Life Manship, Equine Assisted Growth and Learning Association (EAGALA) or Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship (PATH) International
*Must utilize animals that meet guidelines established by the American Veterinary Medical Association.
*Must successfully complete all BBT and State required trainings prior to providing services to individuals
