(1427) Relief Pool Counselor

Job Description

This position provides therapeutic mental health services primarily to adults and families in accordance with best-practice standards, evidence-based interventions and individualized recovery planning. Therapies might include, but are not limited to, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. This position may also receive referrals for youth when clinically appropriate.  Counseling and intake services will be provided in BTCS’ facilities/offices, community, and in person’s homes; these services   may also be provided in vivo or via Tele-Video, as appropriate and approved by the Services Manager. This position will have the opportunity to participate in and/or lead community education, engagement and outreach events and programming (i.e. groups, workshops, classes, courses).

Other responsibilities include consultation with staff as needed one-on-one or in small groups.  The Counselor may participate in strategic or program planning for delivery of mental health services by this program.  This position is one discipline of a multi-disciplinary team and may be the primary service provider for a given client or family system or may serve in the role of consultant.

Service delivery will occur face-to-face in the community or clinic, with some opportunities for remote work available.

This is a relief pool position.  Hours and schedule are flexible.

Salary: $36.56 – $39.13/hr

CredentialsMinimum Qualifications: Must meet qualifications as an LPHA (Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, or Licensed Psychologist) with a minimum of 2 years’ experience in direct care of persons with a serious mental illness. Must have a valid Texas Driver’s License and maintain approved driver’s status throughout employment.
